Author and researcher Kristin Carter-Groulx takes you on a 128-page tour of favourite children's areas in Perth, and some of the grown-up ones too. This fictional tale is told through the voice of a young child visiting their grandmother in Perth, while learning history of the town and those who lived here 200 years ago. From Stewart Park to the Mammoth Cheese, Last Duel Park, and Matheson House, visit favourite tourist locations and read together about Perth.
Included with this book are two full-colour maps of Perth, and 68 beautifully selected photographs showing Perth in all seasons. The map turns into a fun game of "I Spy" or "seek and find," guiding you to discover hidden gems and special spots all around the town of Perth! Each photograph in the book has a special map "magnet" image, which is a close-up of the location on the map where the photograph was taken from to help you find it.

**Update: 8 Jan 2025: I received an updated version of the book with new Ultra Premium Colour pages! It is a subtle difference from the previous paper (which was Premium) but I think it makes the colours and photos really pop! It costs a little more per each book to produce, but the end result is worth it. There is a video on my FB @KristinGroulx,Author page showing the book in its entirety.
Happy New Year! The Perth Library (30 Herriott St) now has a few copies of "My Day in Perth" in its catalogue, alongside my other children's book "Humphrey the Humpback Whale". It may take a few days for it to appear in their inventory.
I'm recovering from illness, so taking the next several weeks to mend. I'm not doing any book orders during that time, but there are a few copies for sale in the Perth Museum/Matheson House gift shop for sale, along with maps. I'll get more out around town in a few weeks.
They are printed fresh just for you (thank you - small press publishing, not mass-produced).
Glossy photo paper maps available for purchase just $10 and $12 (in the Perth Museum gift shop) and makes a fun collectible gift. Helps children learn to navigate maps which are old-fashioned, like a treasure map - different than modern electronic GPS and browser maps, etc.
The book is released to online retailers as of December 5th (such as Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Chapters-Indigo-Coles, Powell's, Waterstones UK - but it might take a few days to appear in their databases). To note, these online vendors always starts out with a higher price, but then it drops after the book has released and is out a little longer.
